We just had a blast practicing in the new arenas. Very cool indeed to practice as my Monk Dood. The new splash screen on up is a great improvment. A-Net out did themselves. All this and no extra fees. Darn spiffy I must say....

Remove one HEX when attacking a necro. That means any HEX cast from either a MESMER or NECROMANCER is removed if the creature attacks a NECRO. So Mesmers are sort of nerfed also.
|
If a Necromancer isn't in your group they can't remove hexes by attack, now can they?
I'm sure people will be 3 manning Tombs by the end of the week.

Tip for the wurms, if you're an axe warrior, take disrupting chop. The stationary wurms in map 3 and 4 only have one attack (wurm siege). It's slow and easy to interrupt, and since disrupting chop disables it for 20 seconds, they are screwed As for the wurms in map 2, I was using dolyak signet to avoid knockdowns and watch yourself to tank them. Once you avoid the knockdown they will stick to you, and the rest of your team can happily blast away at them. Worst enemies by far are the grasps. It's not just the fingers of chaos that get you.... they also spam fear me, when combined with the energy drains of some of the other mobs you can kiss goodbye to your energy. Eviscerate is nasty too, those deep wounds hurt. Being warrior types, they are pretty tough too, best strategy we found was that there are lots of places to body block them with warriors (I was pulling with my trusty longbow ). Although the warriors quickly get nerfed to high heaven from the blind and energy denial, they've got the armour to take the hits (dolyak + watch yourself coming in handy again) and your mates can then blast away at the grasps with impunity Most of the time anyway.... things get nasty if one ever gets through to an ele
Anyway, good luck everyone with the weekend's activities, and thanks very much to ANET for this awesome new update!

Keys
So how do we use the keys? Is this so we can have a separate copy to try out the new characters? So we don't have to delete a character to try them out? Just curious.

Just finished UW with an awesome pick up group..3 monks always healed, 3 rangers trapped like there was no tomorrow, 1 warrior tanked...and me a lowly nuker. I only died once as well - which was a first Was down to 1 health a couple of time before getting healed up straightaway. 4 maps of progressively harder monsters leading to the purple darkness bosses.
There was no morale - but any dp was wiped out if you kept killing mobs. I got Illyanas Staff...but they dont give you a lot of time to pick up your greens at the end..so make sure you do it quick and have at least 1 slot empty for it at the end!! I think a couple of us actually didnt get a chance to pick up their greens!
Also suggest you take Mantra of Concentration or Resolve against Fingers of Chaos!
Good night and good luck all!

Ressurection Signets recharge after each tier, which was really nice once my second group lost two of its members early, then a 3rd at the start of HoH. Managed to pull of the victory though, scoring two greens for myself.
Thanks SOT for that triumph.

Another small update and now we can mess around with the two new classes.
Assasssin and ritualist!
But you can't have any skills or anything. =P I think they're just getting it all ready before the actual event starts.
Nevermind I forgot that you HAVE to choose one of the pre made builds.

Ok... so after this weekend, are we losing that new menu?
Did anyone else notice that you can now choose the default color of your armor pieces when creating a character? doh!
Actually, what is staying and what is only part of the preview? I hope they keep that login screen, it's awesome! I assume that the battle isles that you travel to by boat are part of the preview... but what else is besides obvious things like the new classes?

I'm pretty sure the menu is staying but the Guild Wars Factions ad at the top will go eventually. Battle Islands will remain for everyone, Factions or no Factions. The new classes wont be staying. And about the armor color changing: you've always been able to change the armor color in PvP so unless you're able to do it in PvE its nothing new.
